Two things.

First. There was this episode of Voyager many months ago. I don't remember what most of it was about. But there was a scene where The Doctor and Seven of Nine sang a duet. Of You Are My Sunshine. The scene was done with that inimitable modern Star Trek style. The singing is technically perfect and the whole thing seems so spontaneous, robotically precise, effortless, and gorgeous at the same time. Anyway, I got an MP3 of that tonight.

Second. We may have a winner! Motorcycle I mean. There's an 85 Nighthawk 650 going for $950 (a steal). I've read all about it and I'm driving out to test ride it tomorrow. It's a shaft drive, 655cc, air/oil-cooled, kind of light, six speed, DOHC inline-four, super reliable, wickedly fast, economical bike...

The last two pictures I artified in Paint Shop Pro 7 a little. I like it already. The rear suspension and driveline lash/shaft delay/low speed carburetion are the only things the reviews I've read mentioned as slight negatives. Everything else was very positive, and the bike seems to last for hundreds of thousands of miles if cared for. You can't argue with a sub-$1000 bike that can easily out-accelerate my father's $50,000 Corvette, gets 60 miles to the gallon, costs a dime a day to insure, looks beautiful, and has a reputation for being maintenance-free and ultra-reliable...
